1999 - Shergar

Shergar - an Irish Champion

This movie is based on a true story. Shergar was a champion racehorse who was stolen by IRA terrorists and then rescued by a young boy. A bit different take on horse racing in general, since this is about Irish horse racing, but this is still one of the best horse racing movies.

2001 - On The Nose

This movie is focused more around the people of the story and less about the horses. A janitor with a gambling problem needs to raise money to send his daughter to Trinity college. He finds an aboriginal head in a jar and discovers that the head is able to predict the winner of horse races. A comedy and more amusing than most, this is one of the best horse racing betting movies.

2003 - Seabiscuit

"A Broken Horse and three Broken Men" pull it all together in this wonderful and moving movie about a famous race horse who inspired a nation during the Era of the "Great Depression"

A breathtaking movie based on a true life story about a race horse called Ruffian. This film   captures all that was so great about the freakishly fast filly known as "Queen of the fillies", Ruffian.
